We’ve been waiting for this Vienna Christmas wedding the entire year of 2019. Ever since we met Jessica and Joe for the first time for their venue inspection in Vienna, back in December 2018, Mihai and I got so excited to create these perfect, unforgettable three days’ destination wedding experience for them and their closest family and friends – it needed to be magical, gorgeous, Christmassy, cosy, European, Viennese, it needed to have that wow effect they got used to see in our pictures, but at the same time be unique and express their own vision, tell their own story, and give their guests an once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Our wedding weekend was in mid-December – a truly magical time to be in Vienna with the darling Christmas markets and decorations. Friday was our welcome dinner. Irene and Mihai arranged for a festively decorated trolley from the 1920s to pick up our guests in city center Vienna and drive us to a traditional wine house in the Grinzing hills. We cheers’ed with Prosecco and munched on cheese pastries as the trolley tour guide educated us on important and historical locations on the way to the wine house. We arrived at the wine house and were delighted by the gorgeous Christmas decorations, the cozy atmosphere, and the traditional live music. The wine flowed freely and the food was phenomenal. Irene and Mihai even arranged a traditional Austrian games for us and our guests. It was such a fun, unique way to kick off the festivities. Our guests loved it!

Vienna Christmas Wedding Church Ceremony
The church ceremony was everything we dreamed of – so personal and touching. The reception was beyond anything we could have dreamed. It was as if Irene peered into our minds, saw exactly what our perfect day would be like, and then brought it to life in a way that was a thousand times more extraordinary than we could have imagined. Joe and I were lucky to have a sneak peek of the reception rooms before our guests arrived. We were greeted by a cheerful room filled with fairy lights and Christmas trees – each one holding ornaments with the names of our guests to take as wedding favors. How magical this welcome area was! We were gently ushered from there to the next room. I will never forget the moment when Irene opened the doors to the dining room. It literally took my breath away. Joe and I both cried at the sheer beauty she had created (and I’m crying now as I write, remembering it). Our reaction was so pure, so emotional, so guttural. How many people do you know that can evoke that level of emotion?

Vienna Christmas Wedding Palace Reception
Our 4-course dinner had some of the best food we have ever tasted. The wine was top notch, and the service was impeccable. The live Bossa Club band serenaded us with lively hits as we enjoyed dinner. It really set the mood for the rest of the evening; our guests were so cheerful and had so much fun. The DJ’s setlist for dancing post-dinner was great! He played all the best music and the dance floor was packed all night long. The Christmas tree cake display that Irene arranged was simply magic. Neither us nor our guests had ever seen a display like that before, and it felt truly special; like it set our wedding apart from any other. The energy was so great, and everyone was having so much fun that we ended up extending our reception for an additional hour to keep the party going!
